These are crisp, sweet, and transparent.
Ingredients:
10 medium cucumbers
8 c. sugar
5 t. salt
2 T. mixed pickling spices
4 c cider vinegar
Cover whole cucumbers with boiling water. Allow to stand till next morning; drain. Repeat this procedure on nxt three mornings. on the fifth day, drain and slice into 1/2 inche pieces. Combine sugar, spices, salt, and vinegar. Bring to a boil and pour over cucumbers. Let stand two days. On third day, bring to a boil and seal in hot, sterilized jars.
*Makes about 7 pints.
