Country Apple Tart

Cream together:

3 T butter or margarine
1 c sugar

Add:

2 eggs
1/3 c milk
1 1/2 c sifted flour
2 t baking powder
1/4 t salt

Beat well. Place in greased 9x13" dish and spread out evenly.
Spread a can of sliced apples on top. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes (or until brown on top).

About 5 minutes before taking the pie from the oven, do the following:

Place in a saucepan over low heat:

1/4 lb. butter or margarine
1/2 c sugar
1 c milk

Let this slowly melt.

Take pie out of the oven when done, and pour the sauce over it, loosening the sides and poking holes in the top to let the sauce soak into the pie.
