Ingredients:
2 lbs. sauerkraut, drained
1 medium onion, sliced thin
3 T sugar
1 t caraway seed
4 medium potatoes, scrubbed and quartered
1 1/2 lbs. Italian or Polish sausage, cut into serving sizes
1/2 c dry white wine
Thoroughly mix sauerkraut, onion, sugar, and caraway seed; set aside. in greased 3-quart casserole dish, layer potatoes, half of sauerkraut mixture, saus age, and then other half of sauerkraut mixture. Add wine. Cover and bake in 350 degree oven for 45 - 60 minutes, or until sausage is cooked.
For slow cooker, prepare as above. cover and cook at low setting for 6-8 hours, or until sausage is cooked through.
